Dear Friends,
It’s been a quiet and blessed Christmas season here at the Foster household. We had a good time visiting with our extended family members, with the exception of our granddaughter, Elanor. Her doctors want to keep an eye on her for a bit longer before letting her make the trek from Pennsylvania to Texas. Lord willing, we’ll be able to see her (and our daughter Micah and son-in-law Zach) in Late January. She’ll be turning 3 months old, and it’ll be the first time she gets to see her great-grandmother (Sheryl’s mother). Daily video updates are a blessing, but they’re a poor substitute for holding a sweet baby.
Director Yves Beosso reports that the second story construction of the new multi-purpose building is coming along nicely. The first floor is pretty much complete, and already in use. They’re now putting up windows, doors, and plaster on the 2nd floor rooms. Thank you so much for your financial support on this project. It’s truly been a blessing for their church and school in N’Djamena, Chad!
Construction in Uvira, DR Congo has been a bit slower than expected. At the beginning of 2024, I was hoping we’d be able to have at least the first floor of the school up and running in time for the fall semester, but that didn’t work out. We still have a ways to go before we can occupy it, so the church and school are having to continue limping along with their existing building.
Keep us in your prayers as we evaluate deaf leaders for seminary training in Nigeria. Finding qualified, faithful candidates continues to be a challenge. We hope to start looking at candidates in Chad as well. The deaf churches really could benefit from well-trained leaders, so your prayers are coveted.
In Him,
Tim Foster
